This Privacy Policy explains how Dardsh ('we', 'us') collects, uses, shares, and protects information about you when you use dardsh.app. By using Dardsh you agree to the practices described here.
Who operates Dardsh
Dardsh is operated by OTO Group L.L.C., based in Cairo, Egypt. Questions about this policy can be sent to privacy@dardsh.app.
Information we collect
When you create an account we collect your name, email, optional profile photo, and the languages you want to learn or teach. As you use Dardsh we collect session bookings, message transcripts (when sessions are recorded with your consent), payment metadata processed by our payment provider, vocabulary you save, reviews you submit, and basic device/usage logs. Coaches additionally provide identity-verification documents (KYC) and payout details.
How we use information
We use information to operate the service (matching learners with coaches, scheduling, billing, support), to improve coach-match quality through aggregate analysis, to detect fraud and abuse, to send transactional and (with your consent) promotional email, and to comply with legal obligations.
AI assistance
We use third-party AI services (currently Anthropic Claude) to generate coach-fit summaries on the Discover page. Profile data shared with the AI is limited to what is needed to compute a match summary. The AI provider does not train its models on this data per their API terms.
Session recordings
Live sessions can be recorded for review and quality. Recording starts only after explicit consent from all participants at the start of the session, and a persistent indicator is shown while recording is active. You can decline; declining does not affect your ability to take the session. Recordings are retained for 90 days unless required for a dispute, then deleted.
Who we share data with
We share data with infrastructure and service providers acting on our behalf: Vercel (hosting), Neon (database, hosted in Frankfurt), our payment provider, Resend (transactional email), LiveKit (live audio/video transport), Anthropic (AI features), and Sentry (error monitoring). Each provider receives only what is necessary for their function. We do not sell your personal data.
Data retention
Account data is retained for as long as your account is active and for up to 12 months afterward, then deleted or anonymized. Session recordings are retained for 90 days. Payment records and KYC documents are retained for the period required by tax and anti-fraud law in Egypt and other applicable jurisdictions.
Your rights
You can access, correct, export, or delete your personal data by contacting privacy@dardsh.app. Deletion does not remove records we are legally required to keep (for example, transaction records). If you live in a jurisdiction that grants additional rights, we will honor those rights to the extent the law applies.
International transfers
Our database is hosted in Frankfurt, Germany. If you live in MENA, your data is transferred to Germany when you use Dardsh. We rely on standard contractual mechanisms with our service providers for these transfers.
Children
Dardsh is not intended for users under 13 (or under 16 in jurisdictions that require it). We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has used the service, contact privacy@dardsh.app and we will remove the account.
Changes to this policy
We will post updates here and, for material changes, notify you by email. The 'Last updated' date at the top reflects the latest change.
