A Weekend in a Desert Town
Last summer, Maria and her friend took a bus to a small desert town. They wanted to escape the city for a few days. When they arrived, they were surprised. The streets were quiet, the buildings were old and painted white, and the air was dry and warm. They walked around the market, tried local food, and talked to friendly people. In the evening, they sat outside and watched the stars. It was very peaceful.
The next day, they visited an old fort near the town. The guide told them stories about life there hundreds of years ago. Maria took many photos. On the last day, they bought small gifts to take home. The trip was short, but both of them felt happy and relaxed. Maria said she will go back one day. She thinks a desert town is a perfect place to rest and forget about busy life for a while.
