How People Celebrate Harvest Festivals
Every year, people in many countries celebrate the end of the harvest season. A harvest festival is a time to say thank you for all the food that grew during the year. Farmers and families come together to share food, music, and good times. In some places, people decorate their homes with vegetables, fruits, and flowers. Children wear special clothes and take part in dances and games. The celebrations are usually happy and loud!

Different countries have their own harvest traditions. In Japan, people celebrate Tsukimi by looking at the full moon and eating rice cakes. In Ghana, the Homowo festival brings families together to eat special foods and remember their ancestors. In the United States, many people celebrate Thanksgiving in November with a big meal of turkey and vegetables. All around the world, harvest festivals remind us that food is important and that we should enjoy it together with the people we love.
