How Plants Make Food
Plants are living things. They need food to grow. But plants do not eat like animals do. They make their own food!
Plants use sunlight, water, and air to make food. This process is called photosynthesis. The green parts of a plant take in sunlight. The roots take in water from the ground. The plant also takes in a gas from the air. With all these things, the plant makes sugar. This sugar gives the plant energy to grow.
